What Substrate Do You Recommend?

Well, i've been looking around for substrates for some time now. And am still in a pickle as to what I want. I was hoping someone could have some suggestions for me.
* Must fill a 12"x12" surface area, and also a 30"x15" surface area, to a good depth.
* Preferably doesn't need a layer of gravel on top.
* Looks natural
* Is around £20, the lower priced the better.
* Be of good quality.
* Fairly easy to get hold of (don't mind ordering online).

If anyone has any suggestions they would be most welcome.

I'd say Eco-complete, but I don't yet know how much a 20lb will cover: someone here seems to have used an entire bag in their 12"x12" aquacube which seems a lot. I have some ordered but it isn't arriving until next week, I'm hoping it will do more than my cube!
