Per subject i saw a picture of a deep green tetra with red tail and black lateral spot (not stripe) but i have no clue what species that fish might be.

Buenos Aires tetra is the only one somewhat similar to your description that I know of, sorry. I'm interested to know what they are now.

I see Hemigrammus stictus has come up a few times in the comments along with Golden phantom Tetra.

Edit* after looking back at the video I’ve noticed the fish have white tips on some fins similar to pictures of golden phantoms. More likely those than the stictus

None of them have the blue lateral stripe found on strictus so definitely not those - golden phantoms not sure - some of the pictures are much more yellow and i'm not sure if there is colour variation or the green ones are being taken under a green light.

Hum the dimorphisim between male and female strictus is quite high.

I found an interesting picture of a golden used as a listing pic for an online seller here in the UK. Look at that green reflection on the belly! I do wonder if there was a green tint in that video.

Also from a quick skim reading it seems the colours get better when they get older as the red in the tail of that pic isn't as prominent as the ones in the video.

guess i need to try both when time permits; neither are very expensive and they seem readily available here in usa.

I've noticed a new trend with some uncommon species I know very well. It looks like AI is being used to radically accentuate colours that are there, but not like in the commercial photos. In the past, you could look for saturation effects to see doctored colours, but that's becoming impossible now. I think we're going to see a lot of fish reinvented on sales sites.

I couldn't access the photo in question, so this is just a general heads up.

Not sure which photo but the one i posted from facebook was actually a video from the amazon and i don't see any indication of doctoring. Perhaps you meant the photo @MattW posted ?

Since I couldn't open it, I couldn't see it was a video. I thought it was a photo. And as I said, it was a general heads up. It's something I am seeing too often.
