I want to get another betta. I had one, but she died.
So, I am wondering, can I put a betta in my 10 gallon, with half the tank divided for her? Or do I have to get a separate tank for her??

Thanks!

honestly, you could probably get away with leaving the tank undivided and putting the betta in it. I'm assuming that the guppies in there are just growing out in that tank, so you probably won't have any problems there. Try it and see what happens, you can always divide it later if need be.

Okay, I will put the betta, when I get it, in the 10, without it being divided.
Freshwatergal, you are right. The guppies in there are about 3 months old. They will be moving into a bigger tank soon.
But, will the betta pick on smaller fry? Because I use that tank for fry that are about 1 month to 4 months old.

Thanks!

The betta will EAT any fry it can fit into it's mouth. lol

I had a female who ate half of a drop of swordtails that were 1 week to 3 weeks old. lol She would gulp them down no matter what size they were.

Okay, then I will divide the 10 gallon for her. Is that enough living room for her?
I want her to be happy! :D

you can put the divider right down the middle, 5 gallons is great for the betta and plenty of room for the fry, or as mentioned above you can to 3 and 7 gallons.

Whatever you do though, DEFINATELY put up the divider! :D

Okay, I will give her 4-5 gallons and 5-6 gallons for the guppy fry.
Does that sound good?
