i was wondering what size of tank i would need if i were to add the following;
2x kissing gouramis
5x silvertip tetras/pristella
4x zebra danios
1(or maybe 2)x angelfish
1x kribensis
2x german blue rams(and maybe a gold ram?)
1x parrot cichlid
3x corys

would all these fish be ok together? or are their too many cichlids?

thanks :good:

Hi i would say 150L + (maybe not too sure about full size of cichlids)
Also you need 2 more danios, 2 more tetras and at least 1 more cory to keep everyone happy.
i'm not too sure on the compatibility of the cichlids.

I'm no expert, but there are alot of cichlids there are you sure they will all get along? Also i would recommend to keep a pair of cichlids, and at least 6 zebra danio, as i know they are social fishes, possibly also with the corys.

more like 120 gallon. kissing gouramis can hit 12 inches but given all the other cichlids id say more like 150 to be safeand i wouldnt fancy the tetras chances much either tbh .

i was thinking dwarf gourami
and im not to sure on cichlids.
Thanks

The Parrot Cichlid is not suitable with the other fish. If its removed, a 250L tank should be sufficient

lol , no kissing gouramis are big fish when fully grown . check out this vid , bearing in mind thats a near on full grown bala shark behind it

not at all , sorry not being nasty but still way too small for the gouramis alone without the other fish you are after all talking about a gourami thats not far off the size of an oscar

Remember, Kissing Gouramis rarely get to the size shown in your video. A Parrot Cichlid will quite easily eat smaller fish then it is bigger

That is quite big i dind think any gouramis got more than a few inches ha ha
you learn something new everyday cheers. :D

what size is your tank mate?
my nan had a kissing guarmi in with 5 massive silver dollars a spikey catfish (not sure of the name) and two or three other catfish they all got on fine and seemed like they was loving it.the tank was about 70inch x 40 x 50 roughly between 100 and 120 ltrs.
i would make sure the tank is big enough fot the to all swim and manouver at there full grom maximum stage and go from there. and as for compatibility its all down to the personality of the fish, some will attack anything that moves some are really placid depends on your fish and if you have the time to watch them when you put them together for a good while to make sure they all get on.although i do agree with atleast pairs of fish.
just think in the wild they come across many differcent sp and have to get on with each other in some respect otherwise they would be extict by now a good 200ltr well planted background mildly planted midle and a good space at the front would be acceptable by my standard.
regards spike

70x40x50 is a lot bigger then 150L, but if your on about CM, then its 40L/37UKG

If i were you i'd get these instead:
2x dwarf gouramis
5x silvertip tetras/pristella
6x zebra danios
1x angelfish
2x german blue rams/gold ram?
6x corys
1/2x bristlenose plecs.

I'd say these would be happy in something around 40 gallon, with a decent filter :good:

You could, but you'd need atleast a 100 gallon tank for the Kissing Gourami, and tbh once you get over the kissing gimmick, they're not the most eye catching fish :good:
