Hi

At the moment the fish i have got in my tank is 3 silver sharks, 1 angel fish, 1 gold gourami, 1 african knife fish, 1 corydora, 2 common plec, 1 kribensis, 1 dwarf cichlid, 1 rainbow fish, 1 polypterus and 1 silver dollar. They are all quite small at the moment, but am aware some of these will get quite big. Can anyone advise me on what size tank i will eventually need.

What size tank do you have now?

Yes 6'X2'X2'

the main problem is that when some of your fish get big (particularly the knife fish) they will most likely eat the cory, dwarf cichlid, kribensis, rainbow fish and possibly even the gourami. So it's not just about getting a big enough tank, the fish you have are incompatible so someone has to go!

added to this the silver sharks, cory, rainbowfish and silver dollar are all shoaling fish and need to be kept in groups of 6+

you really want to decide if you want to keep the big fish or the little fish, the species you have can be fairly easily divided into two compatible groups

Group 1

Silver Sharks
African Knife
Common Plec
Polypterus
Silver Dollars

Group 2

Angelfish/Gourami (usually advised to not have these together so pick one)
Corydoras
Kribensis
Dwarf cichlid
Rainbowfish

If you have room for a 6x2x2 then you could move group 1 into that and keep the rest in the current 57 gallon and up all the shoal numbers to the recommended levels.
