Im looking into getting maybe 20 to start with of these to breed (thats going to cost enough), im just wondering whats going to be an ideal size tank for them? I possibly will add more at a later date as well depending on how well it goes or add more tanks much to my other half disgust :good: Ive got a 36"x15"x18" tank sat out im my shed im looking to use to start with, is that going to be ok?

Thanks for your help

Far from an expert, but it sounds good to me :good: Good luck with your venture, I am planning on breeding some in the not too distant future, but will start with maybe 6, they are very expensive at the moment.

Good luck & keep us posted, its always good to hear of these little fish being bred in home aquarium.

Im not overly worried about price as hopefully if i breed them i'll eventually be able to make some/all of that back if i sell some. But i get what you mean, ive just got to convince the OH its a good idea for me to start breeding them

Galaxy rasbora's/celestial pearl danio's have come down in price recently (judging by costs in my LFS) so I'd be surprised if you make much money back on them, but as a breeding project theres nothing wrong with that. That tank size sounds fine, are you planning on partitioning it?

Im not paticularly worried about making my money back but it would be nice to sell a few and just get a little back from them. Eventualy i want to get breeding other fish but i fancy trying these for starters, especially if it helps theres numbers in the wild to increase a little. Ive had some kribs breed before in my dads community tank but there not much of a challenge to breed are they really, its kind of "just add water and we will breed" Oh and not sure about dividing the tank up, would it be a good idea?

A bit off topic but OMG OMG OMG

I had of these before, they where my babies

But then I had to put them in my GF tank as I was getting a new tank.. and...

Her Angel Ate Them :( :(

Hard way to find out that angels will eat anything that will fit into their mouth. Most fish are the same in that respect actually.

Even full grown CPD's shouldn't go into a tank with angels lol, they just don't grow big enough.

Not entirely true, ive got 4 angels in with neon tetra's im my community tank and they've got no interest whatsoever in them. The angels arent exactly small either, maybe ive just been lucky. I added 2 of the angels a couple of months ago which were pretty big and they dont seem to mind the either.
