Hi ,have got 3 corries ,dwarf gouramis, pitbull plecos ,glowlight tetra ,and amano shrimp ,what`s the lowest temp they can survive?

There's no definitive answer, probably down to about 15oC, but that is surviving and not thriving and is by no means acceptable.

The best thing to do is make a chart of their temperature range and find the lowest tolerated degree that they ALL share. Then that would be the lowest temp you could safely have them at.

Sthey`ll be alright untill the morning as my heater won`t go above 22 degrees?

Oh so that's why you were asking, yeah they'll be fine temporarily. Were you planning on getting a new heater? A gradual temp change is ok and the fish are usually alright. It's the sudden temp changes that are the fish killers. Your shrimp will love that temp but not the tetras and gourami.

Yes ,changing heater in morning ,but worried about fish dieing.Did a water change earlier on ,about 11am,but heater wouldn`t go back up to 24.

I had the sdame problem today Maisy. My heater wouldn't go above 22. I went and got a new one in the end.

Am so worried, one of my female gouramis has just died[in last ten mins],only got it yesterday, all ammonia and test results are normal,it`s either the drop in temp ,or a bad fish from shop, was feeding alright this morning though  Thanks Marie ,hope your fish are alright?

Sorry to hear that maisy12345. Can you turn the heat up in your house a bit? Your fish was likely very stressed from the move from lfs to your home and then the cooler temp may have been to hard on it.

Thanks for that ,that`s what i thought,as it`s too much of a coincidence ,buying it yesterday , and dying today .Was upsetting as i had to pull it off my shrimp who tried to pull it away whilst eating it

If you don't have another heater and can't get one til tomorrow, I suppose there isn't much you can do, however much you worry over it. You could try putting a quilt or towels over the tank tonight to insulate it a bit, maybe increase the room temperature if you can. Short of that, just hope for the best really.

For what it's worth I think that they'll be fine :)
