Well, after having such a bad few days (not with rye, just in general), I looked into the tank to find 3 bubblenests He really made my day better.

I think the addition of blackwater helped it also.

Absolutely! Blackwater Extract does tend to promote that kind of behavior. It's frequently added to spawning tanks for that very reason.

I know. I was kind of doubting if it would calm him down especially after that whole blinding experience but I love that stuff now and I'm sure to use it on any future betta that I get (which I'm sure will be soon if I stay in TFF ).

Oh yea, it was.
I was so worried about him because my brother had come to visit us and he was really nervous when my brother was around his tank. My brother had put his hand in front of the tank and Rye tried to jump out of it. Luckily I had "made" him a lid with some mesh plastic beforehand because of his nervous reactions. I figured he was going to jump someday and we're hardly ever home so I didn't want him to be a casualty. I had to cover him up with a towel so he would calm down when my brother was around...I was really wishing I would get the blackwater as soon as possible. It took 2 weeks to come and he's had it in the tank for 2 days. He's great now...no more darting around or attempting to jump out of the tank. And no more trying to bite me ...except when I roam my finger on top of the tank of course, but it's ok then because I'm playing with him too.
