i was hoping if someone could help me i was wondering if i could put a volcanic rock in a tropical tank as i got it out of a pet store but i cant find any information on it and was wondering if it is safe to use thanks

if your talking about lava rock, yes its fine just wash it well

that was realy helpfull but my larva rock is white not black so now im not to sure but i bourght it as lava rock/volcanic rock it is realy heavy with holes through it and what look like focils in it it is rough and smooth in parts so now im not to sure

you have purchased "ocean" rock
this is a form of limestone and is unsuitable for tropical communities.
Ideal for malawi/tanganikan cichlids set ups or marine tanks.

It will affect your ph making it more alkaline. As said perfect for marine and malawi setups but not for your average community.

i have just saved three Labidochromis caeruleus as my so called good friend was going to flush the poor little mites down the toilet as i could not see them go i have put them in my tank there are two females and one male about 2" each they are so beautiful i was going to have a few discus and some neons but now i have had mind made up for me. so now i know my little orphans will be fine with the rock but will my five little danios be ok two im not to sure about them i have been reading up on labs and thay do not seem to be to agressive. they all seem to get on and be as scatty as each other that is fun to watch a bit mad at times just like my house and my little apple snail just goes by so slow any ways thanks for all your help
