What Ram, And How Many?

I'm thinking of whether to get some rams for my tank to add a bit of vibrance to it. What numbers are these best in?

Also, what would be the most ideal species be to keep? Bolivian? German? Neon Blue?

I have 3 species of DC (4 fish in total). Would they fight?

My tank is 48 inches x 12 inches x 15 inches.

Ph around 7.4, trying to gradually lower Ph to around 6.8 using an RO filter fitted in our kitchen.

Inhabitants include;

10 neon tetra
1 Galaxy Rasbora
1 Female Betta
1 Marbled Angel
2 pearl laced gourami
1 Golden Gourami
1 Yoyo Loach
1 Royal Gourami
1 Green Swordtail
1 Cockatoo DC male
1 Opal DC Male
2 Red Line DC Male & Female

DC = Dwarf Cichlid

Your stocking still hasn't really improved from your other thread!

My bolivian rams didn't like my apistos and my gourami didn't like my rams. I don't think having angels would help either!

I think it's a bad idea tbh. Your current stocking needs sorting out first.

Wouldn't add any more Cichlids in honest, a pair per two square feet/20 gallons is the usual rule of thumb, also get yourself 9 more Galaxy Rasbora's.

I've taken out my neon rainbow, krib, Congo tetra and 3 algae eaters, so it's a big improvement from that, I think the Krib would have been the main factor, considering how aggressive they can be.

In my last tank I had 2 German rams with the Golden Gourami I have now, and there was no trouble that I saw. What other fish would you recommend I take out? I'm not getting rid of my loach, I've decided to keep an eye out for a couple more Yo-yos to add to the tank

I love Rams too but it always seems to me there's too many other fish you can't have with them. That also seems to me to be the case with most Cichlids.

Well it's your tank, add some if you wish, I would be surprised if it worked out.

Apistos, gouramis, angels, a betta AND rams... just because fish aren't attacking each other, it doesn't mean they're not stressed out by each other.

I appreciate your input, which of my remaining fish would you recommend I take out to make the tank more peaceful?

The angel for a start, purely because the tank is too small.

Which are your favourites gourami(s) and dwarf cichlids?

Have you considered a larger tank?

Still concerned about that rasbora - I think you should rehome it rather than add yet more fish, but it really must be addressed soon. Likewise loach.
