went to lfs last week and they had some fish that had like feathered tails. they were about an inch big.... and grow to about 4 inches. they were quite expensive but worth it cuz they were lovely. im going back today and might get some but wanted to research them first so i know i can meet there needs.

cant remember there name can anyone help? i think they had the word feather in there names

Umm, the only thing I can think of is the feather tail betta. Is it a species of tetra, danio, live bearer?
Oh, could it be a congo tetra? Their tails remind me of feathers, and they're gorgeous and colorful.

they were not a betta. il try and look for pics. they were so nice but i dont want to get them if i dont know what they are.

After a bit of research, I could only find 2 fish that have feather in their name: feather fin tetra, and feather fin pearl fish. However I couldn't find any pics or info on the pearl fish, and the tetra only gets 2 inches big as an adult.

This could be an interesting search, seeing as how LFSs love to throw random common names on fish

Oh yes, a feather fin syno, too. I think that's a good guess. I think they get around 4 inches or so.

They're not Iriatherina werneri (threadfins) by any chance.
A kind of rainbow fish from New Guinea and Australia.
