What Plants?

I'm getting a new tank and when its ready after the cycle and what not i was wondering what plant i should get artificial , bog wood , living
in the tank i have guppy's swordtail pencil fish and a loach
so what plant do i need?

I would definitely suggest live plants over artificial. But ya check out the planted forums thats where I learned how to keep mine alive!

There are probably no plants you need. Its all down to a question of preference.

Have a look at other tanks and try to get an idea of what kind of set ups you like. You may not be able to name the plants you want, but you will get a fair idea of wether you want carpet type plants, or narrow plants, or smaller ones and so on. Then you can ask and peruse at your LFS to get the ones you want.

As for keeping them looking good and alive, the Planted Sub Forum is defo the best bet!!

a good way to start is by checking the pH of you water. if its soft get cabomba, and if its hard get elodea. in their preferred water they grow really quickly and can benefit tank water very much
