i thought it was a crypt at first then i started to doubt myself because the roots are really thick and strong

No, should be a crypt; have a look at the rosette form of the leaves.

i dont think its a peace lily i checked that already and it doesnt look like any of the pictures i found plus its been under water for the last 2 months and its growing new leaves every other week

its not a peace lilly the leaves a wrong imo also peace lillys will grow in water as long as the top of the plant emerges
