Hi'

Not sure if this is the right section for the post ;

I have a large tank with an auto water change system that changes about 300-500 litres of water a day. i do save some of the water but large amounts go down the drain ( luckly im not on a water meter :) ) my tank is in a brick built shed with a small window that doesnt get an awfull lot of light. Is there any plant i could put near the overflow of the sump that would thrive through having a large amount of water and not a lot of sun light? Just to clarify i am on about being outside the sump and not in just so it catches some of the passing water.

Anubias and Java fern should be ok. They have been seen growing on the edge of water falls.

Thanks for the reply, should i just put these in a small plant pot? never grown them outside of the fish tank before

It's easier and best for the plant if you tie them onto something rather then bury. Their rhizome shouldnt be buried.
