I lost some of my fish a few weeks ago:

2 Odessa barbs

4 Pentazona barbs

They all lost their colour and died within a few hours, I couldn't find any signs of parasites and the water stats were perfect. I think I may have stressed them by dropping the tank temperature by 3*C from 27*C to 24*C over 6 days.

Since then I haven't lost any fish.

My Tank:

Juwel Vision 180L, 3' bowfront.

Stats:
Ph: 7.2
KH: 6-10
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10-25 (25 in the morning, dropping to around 10 in the late evening after the lights have been on all day)

Filtration:

Internal juwel compact h
External Tetratec EX600

My current stocking:

1 RTBS
1 L260
7 Odessa Barbs
1 Pentazona Barb
5 Dwarf Otos

Approx total length of fully grown inhabitants 38.5"

What would you recommend to finish off this setup?

I was thinking maybe maybe one choice from this list:
* 5 neon rainbows
* 2 Boeseman rainbowfish

Or any other suggestions welcome.

Your barbs shouldn’t of lost their colour and died by such a small drop in temperature

I know that they shouldn't have died from a small drop in temperature, I just put it down to them being weak specimens as I have not had any deaths in the tank for at least 3 years before I got these fish and have not lost any since.

Agreed, the temp drop will not kill them, mine flux's almost constantly with no ill effect. Before adding more fish, id try to find the source, if it is infact weak stock then be sure not to buy more of the same :)
