I found this little thing this morning on the cross bar underneath the hood, in my Juwel tank. Dead. No clue what it is. Never seen it before. Nothing else as far as I can see in my tank. What on earth is this ?

Oh, it's probably no longer than 7mm in it's entirety.

lol my answer was either going to be a mayfly or a fish fly its one of the two.

If it is a mayfly (looks like one), they lay their eggs in water I think - although maybe slow moving only.

Don't know if this will have happened in your tank?

Thanks everyone. Well odd how it got in and amazing that it didn't get eaten !
But very comforting to know that "These are only found in very clean water containing lots of oxygen"
Oh well haven't seen anything since and can't see any reports that they are harmful.....
