What On Earth Is My Gupy Doing?

hi,

my guppy is heavily pregnant and she keeps swiming on the bottom of the tank and then she goes near the gravel she like dives and twists n bounces her self off the gravel? sounds strange aye? she has been doing this for 2 or so days no and im getting worried? please help me

Thats not normal, how many fish do u have and what size tank?

ok in the tank i have one dwarf gourami, two male guppies(faily small tho), female guppy (her), a pair of sailfin mollies and two painted barbs, and they are all in a 75 litre Aqua one AR-510 tank

so that behavious isnt normal..... she does it occasionally and i just thatught it was wierd.

Dounds finr the tank, but it sould like she's got some parcite's, may be white spot and what she's doing is trying to rub them off.

Can u see and strange lumps or spots, white or clear in colour?

If nothing it could be something in the gill's so u may need some formailin based treatments to flush the gills

It sounds like ich to me. Even if you can't see it, it could be there. Check your water stats or atleast the temperature. Has the temperature been flucuating lately? I'd treat the tank with some kind of all-around healing med.

yeah i doubt she is sick she is a very healthy looking female, the temp is constantly at 26 celcius. doesnt really fluxualte mabey 1 or 2 digree over night n in the day but that all. her gill are a healthy pink n they look fine, im wondering is this a sign of labour casue i think she is heavily pregnant?

It could be that she is having problems with labour. I had a guppy that aborted and it took days, with similar behaviour, never thought she was going to make it but she did pull through in the end.

dear me, learn to write properly! Thats stupidly cruel! Constipation should be treated by feeding peas and feeding less and possibly changing the type of food. Squeezing a fish isnt nice. The only time it might be acceptable is if a fish has problems giving birth and a baby gets stuck coming out.
