What Nitrogen Source Do Plants Like The Most?

nitrate or ammonia or nitrite? I mean i wont dose ammonia or nitrite since i have fish but i just want to know for general knowledge.

To my knowledge they go ammonia first, then nitrIte then nitrAte.

I think plants prefer inorganic N (DIN) over organic (DON). DIN is derived from dosing KNO3 and DON from sources such as fish waste.

It is easier for plants to take their N from NH4, but they are unable to store NH4 like they can NO3. From what I can gather, uptake of N from NO2 is minimal.
