hi there i have a juwel rio 125 including...

4 x kuhli loach
4 x albino cory
4 x bronze cory
6 x widow tetra
5 x glass cats

i want another type of fish but not sure what, single pair or shoal.
ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME

thanks james

I'd top up the corys (to 6/spp), tetras (to 10) and Glass Cats (to 6)..

..but assuming your water parameters and tank layout are suitable, maybe a trio of Apisto. cacatuoides?

and the none scientific name is??

Cockatoo cichlid. Scientific names are better for getting the right fish because sometimes a number of different species can share the same name.. for example, there is a pleco which is called "Rusty" and a cichlid called, also, "Rusty".

for starters i would definatly up your groups most of the fish in there already should really be a minimum of 6 in a group.
Here what i would do:
8 kuhli loaches ( you will see them a hell of a lot more)
at least 6 albino corys
at least 6 bronze
8 widow tetra
and then i would get a pair of either German blue ram cichlids(gbr)or bolavian rams (i much prefer gbr but bolavian are hardier, but the gbr are much prettier imo) they are very peaceful fish and i would say more so than the cockatoo cichlids, but that is just my opinion. btw in a pair it must be 1 male 1 female

the GBR's scientific name is Mikrogeophagus ramirezi
here is a link to some really helpful profiles for it:

here are some for the bolavian ram (scientific name Microgeophagus altispinosa):

On the other hand if you do not want either of the rams, i reckon a pair (again male female) of kribensis would look fab in your aquarium (scientific name Pelvicachromis pulcher) however whether they would be okay with you glass cats i am not sure sorry. here are some link for them:

Oh and btw one of my favourite fish websites is 'aquahobby' they have all kinds of fish on there and for every profile you get aload of comments from people who have had the fish and there opinions. there is an aquahobby link for each of the cichlids i have reccomended for you

I hope this helps! feel free to pm or email me if you ever need anything else :) x x x
