I was helping my friend set up her new 10G kit today, and it hit me. Boy its be au ti ful!

And I was wondering.....what makes a new tank, look so cool? What makes it look like soo much fun? What is it in a new tank that makes you say, "Man, I want a new tank."
I have 4 tanks already, and I dont need another one until my 55G. But its just so tempting to me to go and buy another tank...
Is it just me?

Doctor, we have another case of MTS on our hands.

It is something I have wondered for years!!
It's not always the case of 'ooooh I have room for more fish' it's the designing of it and fiddling with things until it looks just right.
Also no tank is exactly the same...it's not possible!
It is great though! Even if you don't need another tank..... how about wanting another one and another one and another one!!!!

Yeah, it's definitely the creative aspect of it. Making something that's aesthetically pleasing, being able to do something and being good at it, and liking what you do. I suck at drawing, and painting, so aquascaping is a creative outlet for me.

Its matter effect an feeling like you have accomplish something :).

I love designing the aquascape to make it unique, yet natural. Plus I LOVE getting a new species that I've never had before and getting to see its behavior first hand, and know that you are responsible for what you see before you. Its the creative and inquisitive aspect for me.

I've been measuring up everything in my room trying to find out just how big a tank I can fit in, and where it can go, where I can move things to make room for a bigger one. :D

I have plenty of room elsewhere, but want the tank in my room with me, because that's where I spend my time, and I tend to talk to my fish... :*)

I curse my ex who got me my current tank, one expensive hobby is enough without wanting more fish! :D

Yeah, I love aquascaping.
It does let you be creative without having to draw or spend a bunch of hours writing down differernt Ideas. You do it one way, if you dont like it, change it.

Atleast I'm not alone.....
I can't wait till my 55G. Biggest tank I've ever worked with.

It's the excitement...designing how the tank will look, thinking what fish would look good in the tank, or use the little caves and what fishes will swim through the plants.

My new hobby is keeping a species tank, or biotope. It is really different seeing a school (100+) of fancy guppies then maybe 3, they feel more comfortable, happy, and therfore, behave like they would in the wild, this is why keeping a species tank is so much better than a community.IMO. yea yea yea, just fancy guppies, but they are still fish, and are still beautiful in a large school :D Although i admit that i have a school of 21 cories in there..more like a cory/guppy species tank :)

for me its making the tank look exactly how i want it.Decorating then fish shopping........i dont like cycling though.Im just dying to get fish in.i do have afew tanks but the 13ish gallon is mine. The 200ish is mine and my dads
