The title says it, whats your opinons plz, im going to buy sand in like a half an hour at most

I like the look of sand but I am too scared to convert. then I saw black gravel.....and i bought some (gravel that is).....

I personally like black sand but it really is like he said personal preference. If you going to have plants they tend to grow better with sand.

I think this is very subjective but I like sand better. My next large tank will probably hold black sand...

I've got natural gravel in all of my tanks, but when I set up my new one next year I want to put black sand in it.

I've got 2 tanks with sand and one with gravel - I definitely prefer the sand - it looks great and is really not difficult to clean and maintain.

yes sand for me to. Plants grow better in it, and i think im right in saying alot of catfish prefer sand to gravel because it is softer on their barbels.

In the end i guess it is just a personal preference.
