What Kind Of Plant Is This?

I got it from a teacher of mine. He had it for over a year, and it's huge and bushy. I only got a piece of it. One thing, it doesn't have any roots. Or I couldn't find any. Another thing, it doesn't really have leaves. It's more of a fern. And little stems protruding form the others.

I moved it toward the front.

The same plant but in it's spot.
