So I have two things I would really like some help on. I'm new to owning guppies, which has now become just a little hobby of mine. I own five guppies in total, and I would like to know what kind/coloration are they? And the last question I have is about my pregnant female (last photo), her gravid spot has been changing from black, to pink, to black, then pink and speckled with black and so on. Is this normal? And does she look about ready to drop? Thanks for any help!

Here is where you can see his color a little bit better.
This is one of my male's.

Here is him up close.

This is one of my females. link

Another one of my females. (I think she is a half black?)

Here his color is a little brighter.

And finally my last female.

Here you can see her tummy a little better.

He's a double sword, look's like a possible Viena emerald.

All the rest are a mix of things and by crossing them all together you get a mixed bag of good looking fry, be interesting to see how they develope

Cool:) Thanks! I was told he was a japanese blue double swordtail but he does look like a viena emerald. Are they hard to come across? So the rest of the ones have are like mixed?

Does anyone else has any opinions/answers to what the other males and females are? And a possible answer about my pregnant female?

Well Japanese blue is a very pale blue, it could just be your flashing thats added the colour.

This is one of my old Jap blue's to compare colour's

first 2 females are not pregnant, but the 3rd is, I would expect fry with in 10 days or so.

Yes, he actually is a pale blue its the flash. So, im not quite sure what he is. But looking at images of vienna emeralds he looks very close alike to them. With the japanese blue's the pattern on his body didnt match. But with the vienna emerald he does. So i think maybe vienna emerald?

The two females have really dark gravid spots, maybe their early in their pregnancy? But the other female is getting pretty big pretty fast. And I can't wait for baby fry! These will be my first batch of fry ever, so its really hard for me to tell when she will be ready to drop. I have her separated right now in her own 5 gallon, and have a breeder box ready. I plan to only use the breeder box if I see she is REALLY close to dropping. Reason why i want to use a breeder box is to be able to save as many babies as possible since this is my first batch of fry. After this first batch I will just let nature take its course! When I got her she was already pretty heavily pregnant and it has now been a week and a half, should I expect fry any earlier then 10 days?

If the male is the same light blue and not greed then it's a Japanese blue base fish.

A virgin guppy still show gravid spot's, so you can never be sure if their pregnant from that alone. Once their putting on weight then that can be going along the road of birth at any point.
I never trap guppies, i rear all the fry along side the adults, yes you may lose some to predation but as their never stressed by being trapped you get much better fish once they grow up.

Also guessing how long fish will be till they drop can be very variable game. 10 days is a guess, you may get 10 small fry tomorrow or wait another 2-3 weeks and get 150 fry!

I managed to find a picture that looks *exactly* like him.

Thats interesting, I never knew virgin guppies will still show gravid spots! That's a very true fact, so should I move her back with the adults? My tank isn't too heavily planted, only three plants. I plan to get more plants and decoration this friday.

Would you be able to tell me what kind/coloration the other guppies are that I have?

He's simply a yellow cant give exact names as their are thousands out there and most from Singapore imports dont have name's just colours.

As for the first, thats defo based on Japanese blue, may of been crossed with the "Viena emerald" to develop the double sword.

Ok cool, that was my guess on him:))

Well what ever my blue male is I think he's simply beautiful! Im very excited to have my first fry, I check on her very often! (even though I dont need to lol)
Is there anything I should know about guppies since these are my first? Im very into learning about them at the moment.

Has her hole near the anal area dropped or opened up? Sorry its the best picture I could get she was moving about too fast for my camera to catch.
