I was wondering what kind of fish can go with guppies? I have a 10gallon that only has 4 guppies in it. I just need some names that would fit. I know some will say how about if the female guppies give birth. I'm just going to use survival of the fittest...

Do they have to be fish... as a nice apple snail would look nice in your tank (seen your pics). Or maybe a few shrimp.
Most fish will go ok with guppies i have one guppy and he gets along fine with all the fish i have in my tank (see signature), although HE is agressive sometimes to a molly 3 times his size hehe. I'm not trying to say if you put any of the fish i have in my tank in with a group of 4 it will work, but they are all fine with the guppy i have.

Yeah they have to be fish :D ... I'm thinking of 5-6 small neon tetras and 2 cories. Is that o.k?

Hmm.. Corys are schoolers and a whole school wouldn't fit to a 10 gal. I would get a few more guppys and cherry shrimps. Or platy males, if you don't get kicks out of shrimps.

Well, guppies certainly get on with neons - I have 5 neons and 2 male guppies and they got on fine, which is to say they completely ignore each other. The guppies are mostly interested in showing off to each other and occasionally - since my 3rd guppy died - my male platy... but not the female!

Platies aren't schooling fish per se...they are more like Guppies in that they like a few of their own kind. It would be hard to say with Platies. I'm not sure all Males would work in that size tank, and I don't think you could handle more fry...

Personally, I'd just wait until your female Guppies have fry. Then you'll have more then enough fish to populate your tank. :p Even with survival of the fittest, some will survive, so you need to plan for those.

Or if you really want to go for another type of fish, Pygmy Cories could work. However, only do this if you have a plan for all the fry you will have.

Yeah my friend owns a pet store so hes going to get all my fry.... I really would like a school of tetras. I already have 1 in there so im propably going to have to buy 3 more.

I have six neon tetras in with my male and female guppies and yes theyre just fine. I also have 3 harlequin rasboras (formerly penguin tetras) which also fit in perfectly. Oh and I know corys are schoolers but I have only two and they get along happily as well.
