I saw the coolest cory the other day at a small LFS, and wish I had gotten him! He had markings all over that looked like a maze or a labyrinth. Does anybody know what kind this was? I don't know a whole lot about them, other than I like them bunches! I have 3 albinos that I just love, but would love to get some different ones, because I just think they're too cute!!!

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I looked that up, but that's defiitely not it. It seriously looked like a maze, not spots, and was one of the coolest fish I think I've ever seen!

I hope somebody can help me!!! I want to try to find one now!!!

I think I found it!!! And I think you were right! The first pics I pulled up didn't look at all like what I saw, but then I found some!!! It just took some looking at pictures to find what I was looking for... It is the corydoras trilineatus, which from what I can tell is the same thing as corydoras julii... THAT'S WHAT I WANT!!! They're too cool!

check out the pics I found:

could also be corydora reticulatus (reticulated or network cory). go to www.planetcatfish.com they have pictures.

Thanks, Many a Molly! I think you could be right, too!!! I guess I'm back to I don't know exactly what I saw, but it could easily be one of those two... I hope I see another one!!! I looked again today, and ended up buying my daughter 2 new guppies and myself two adorable cories they called a "green gold cory". They're cute!

But I'm determined to keep looking for another one like the maze-lookin' one I saw... He was too cool.

I have 5 of the Julii or trilineatus, not sure which, they both look pretty identical, lol. THey are really cute and intersting fish. I hope you find some, if you do get a group of 4-5 so they're happy. Although if you already have some cories, they weill hang with them too - cories school with each other despite which kind they are(eg pandas will school with leopards). If you do manage to get some, tell me how much they are. Over here in Scotland, my cories (still only 1" each) were £3.95 each! ($6.68 USD)

Hi, Harry! I'm still looking for him... Now I'm thoroughly confused as to what type to look for! I guess I'll know him when I see him, right? :S

I wanted to get back to you on your question about price. All the cories I've seen so far (keep in mind this fish thing is a fairly new addiction, about 9 months or so) have been priced between 3 and 4 US dollars. Not badly priced... I'm sorry they're so expensive there!!!

After some further research, im pretty darn sure i have the C.trilineatus, apparently the true Julii cories are very rare, and they dont have many/if any lines, just spots, and are a little lighter in colour.

Hi lauraswan25 :)

The C.julii and the C. trilinius catfish are often confused. Here is a link that discusses it:

I have 3 green-gold corys, too. I haven't seen any referrences to them on the net, but I think they are a variation of C. aeneus. They are pretty little things especially when the light hits them the right way. If you know any more about them, please post on it.
