Hey guys,
About 2 months ago, i bought 6 panda corys for my community tank. Its a 75 gallon with a sand bottom and a mixture or rocks, mopani wood and real/fake plants.
As of 10 minutes ago, I'm now down to 3 pandas. The other 3 have died (the first about 6 weeks ago)They've seemed fine, but then they just turn up dead. My water chemistry has been fine(no ammonia or nitrite since i added fish) Ph has held steady at 7.0 and I've had no other deaths since they were added. I do weekly 25% water changes. Last one was done on Monday.
At this point, I'm assuming that they were killed by my clown loaches or Red Tail black shark during feeding. I doubt they meant to do it(they are always very docile and pretty much sleep together in a rock cave all day) but i think the pandas may have just gotten between a much larger fish and a shrimp pellet. Any other ideas? I don't think I'm gonna replace the pandas, since they are so small and I don't want to lose anymore. I may just up my school of peppered corys and let the pandas tag along (they do so already)
for reference, here is my stocking.....
10 cardinal Tetras
10 Rummy nosed tetras
10 golden zebra danios
2 German Blue Rams(I think they are both males)
5 peppered corys
Red Tail black shark
4 Clown loaches
3 remaining pandas
