What is this???

it looks like a peppered cory, maybe not because it is so small though.

Here I am! :D

Hi fishwatcher :)

Yes, that's a C. paleatus, often called a peppered cory.

If it's smaller than the others, it could be a male, (I can't tell from the photo) or it could just be smaller. Like people, there is often some variation in size from fish to fish. If it appears to be healthy, that's what really matters.

Thanks! The lfs didn't know what he was, other than a cory cat.
Since you know so much about them from what I can tell, Inchworm, is it normal for the leopard and albino to pretty much be sedentary during the day? THey always just kind of hang around, not doing much. I was worried about them, but when I turn off the lights at night, I've gone back in there and caught them swimming and eating great.
Is this how they normally are?
Thanks again!

Hi fishwatcher :)

Corys are naturally nocturnal fish, so coming out at night is not unusual. They don't need to see their food since they use their barbels to find it, and their eyes are somewhat sensitive to the light. This is why it's good to provide them with a cave so they can get some shade during the day.

It seems to me that older corys, and corys kept alone or in small schools, especially like to sit around during the day and often wait until night to become active. :D
