I have these stingy brown things growing all over one of my plants.
Iv never seen anything like it.
I have no idea what species of plant it is.
Is it algae? Strange because its only on one plant!

They look like aerial roots the plant is setting. I bet if you put them in contact with some substrate you will get a new plant.

I did suspect this except this plant grows on wood not in substrate, plus I also have them growing on the tips of some of the leaves.

On second thoughts I think your right. They pulled off really easily and looked like mini plants. Iv plantted them in my sand as I aint got more wood to attach them to. Jus hope they take in the sand.
Is there any reason that a plant that grows on wood wouldnt grow in sand?

They'll be ok for a short while in the sand so long as the rhizome is not in the sand.

Its Java Fern i suspect, its doing something identical to the Ferns in my tank, nothing to worry about.

+1 with Tizer its new growth from the fern. Mine are doing it aswell.

So are mine! Thats 3 people so I think you can be pretty confident this is nothing to worry about! :)

It's Microsorum's way of reproducing, it produces new plants from nodes on the leaves, which is why roots begin to grow from the 'parent' leaf, once the plant(s) are big enough they will drop off and the parent leaf will die, you could pull them off yourself.

Thanks everybody. Iv pulled them all off now and the dead leaves some of the where on and have attached them to some rocks
Thanx again
