was away for a couple of days, the housemates were looking after the tank. all good thos they know whats going on. now ive got these tiny little tufts of hairy fluffy green stuff on the glass.

anyone know what it is? just some kind of algae? there were quite a few little tufts of it, and some other teeny tiny ones that hadent developed yet. i magnet cleaned them it off.

wondering if anyone knows?

Algi normally is smaller than that.That looks like a small plant.Damnnn i seriously dont know.
 
Definitely algae. A mix of spot and maybe brush types. Quite normal in most tanks. Do water changes more regularly to combat it. Also the magnet helps :)
 
Water changes wont get rid of algae. Its the nutrients in you tank thats causing the algae. get some fast growing stem plants. You need bring your co2 to 30ppm or dose excel and you need to start dosing fertilizer.
 
i dose with liquid ferts and about half the tank is totally chockers with hygrophillia polysperma and camboba carolinas and heaps of other random plants. riccia, hairgrass, anubias, crypts etc.

im probably not using enought fertiliser tho, got the CO2 under control however.

im still learning! huuhh. thanks for the advice!
