What is this seeping out of my wood, please?

Hi all

What is this that keeps seeping out the wood? The piece has been soaking for 12 days and is in its third bucket of water.

I don’t want to put it in the tank as this oily stuff keeps coming out!

alien stomach acids

probably biofilm from whatever is rotting or leaching out of the wood. Just keep changing the water every day or two until it stays clear.
