i dont know the name or have a picture but i just saw a picture on a site that then i couldnt find.

it sat out of the water and had lots of green straight leave type (sort of like long grass sticking out in a sort of rounded hill type out of the water?

does anyone have any suggestions what it could be so i can do an image search to find it!

thanks
:)

When u say out of the water do u mean a floating plant?

sorry yeah floating. it had some roots but cant remember exactly because it was like a mini slide show and the images only last a few seconds and i couldnt go back to it

Not that great on plants myself, the only floating ones I know of are water lettuce, water hyacinth, fanwort & duckweed.
If your not sure u could do a search on them - might stike lucky untill someone with a bit more plant knowledge come along :)

Do you have any idea how big this plant was? My first thoughts when you started were Pistia stratiotes but it only looks remotely grass like from the side, not above for example.

Also are you sure it was a floating plant? Simple physics dictates that a plant growing high out of the water would topple over without a substantial anchoring mechanism of some kind.
