it's some kind of... thing

Anyways... I just did a water change on my 10g and right after it I was watching a cherry shrimp on the hairgrass and he went on this particular leaf (the one the thing is on) and then I looked away for a few minutes, then when I looked back this was there. Is it cherry shrimp eggs? It's the exact same color as the shrimp... but it seems like a lot for a tiny little shrimp...

What is it, and what should I do with it if it IS eggs, assuming I want them to hatch.

Thank you in advance.

EDIT, :16

OMG. I went back and looked at it again and one of teh cherries was cleaning it off or something and then one of the amanos came and pulled off the white things... should i stop him? I think he's eating it.... HELP.

looks like a mushroom... or a snail of some sort *shrugs* mushroom to me, but I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't help very much though

EDIT-just read the edit. Why don't you try to take it away and examine it ??

lol, now the red thing fell down and it's a piece of gravel... but then what was the white...?

NAh... can't find the shrimp that grabbed it, not w/o uprooting all the plants. Ehh... oh well. I don't think it was a mushie or a snail 'cause I only looked away for about a minute and the shrimp was just there, and before the shrimp was there, nothing was there. Also, the shrimp was cleaning it off.... if it was a snail it's move... if it was a dead snail it would've already been eaten. So, I have no idea what it was but it was cool. B)

Could have been algae. You may have sucked it up doing a gravel vac and it settled back down on the leaf.

I know what it is. You know that stuff that seals the corners of normal aquariums? Some fell off and somehow got stuck to a piece of gravel, the shrimp picked it up, and for whatever reason, placed it there. It certainly looks like it. :dunno:

Not algae... definately not algae... not fish food either, I only feed freezedried bloodworms to my hatchetfish because it floats, so it can't be fish food...

I think it may have been a snail because before I do a WC I squash all the snails and my shrimp eat them after the WC. But it doesn't ex[lain how the DEAD snail got up onto the one piece of heairgrass w/ a piece of gravel....

Yeah, I don't know. Are you sure it ate it? Could it have picked up the taste of something, like bloodworms.. somehow? Maybe the shrimp is just crazy.

What else you got in there inhabitant wise? Looks kinda like snail bogies to me or possibly the remains of a snail.
