We have just set up a freashwater 33 gallon tank and we are wondering what is that fish that clings to the glass and cleans it? If someone could tell me the name of said fish I would be very grateful. It may seem dumb but we honestly dont know. Thanks

Most likely you are thinking of a species of plecostomus. As your tank is on the smaller side, the most available smaller plecos are Rubbernose (aka bulldog) Chaetostoma sp., the bristlenose pleco Ancistrus sp.(excellent algae eater), the clown pleco Panaque maccus (may eat live plants), and Otocinclus (like to be kept in groups).

I would highly suggest staying away from the chinese/siamese algae eater. They are good at eating algae when juveniles, but become highly aggressive and may suck the slime coat off of your fish as adults.

Almost forgot, almost all plecos are sensitive to any ammonia or nitrite in the tank and will do best in a mature tank (a fully cycled tank that has been running for at least 2 months).
