What Is The Point Of This Board?

This board sits proudly at the top of these forums, but its point seems to be very confusing:

First visit to fishforums.net? Read up on helpful topics, get guidance from members, or simply come and say hello!

Seems that only the first of those points is correct - the rest are found elsewhere.


You can see this demonstrated by the number of people who think they should post here, and then the mods have to move it to the correct place.

this would be better in boards announcements & suggestions.


I think it should be called introductions/ greetings where you introduce yourself and give any info you would like, then keep all fish related queries in the other forums...

Actually, it is meant as a place for new members to introduce themselves and does have helpful links although we all know that no almost no one reads pinned topics. Part of the reason that a lot of "help" threads get started here is some people, because of spam blockers or what ever other reason, don't get the validation email and can't validate their membership. This is one of the few places they can actually post until they do validate so they start here.
