yep hemichromis. juwel cichlids. easy to keep and breed, grow to 6" males and about 4" females. the lifalli juwel is a closely related species that is much more red and blue, they are readily available and are riverine cichlids of africa that dont come from any of the rift valley lakes such as malawi, tangynika or lake victoria, in my experience ive found them to work extremely well with american cichlids such as firemouths salvini's etc. these guys are very mean but compared to a red devil they are nothing so dont keep them with brutaly aggresive mates.
mine readily spawned and cared for their young very well.
