What Is The Most Fragile Tropical Fish

The fish that are heavily inbred are often very weak. In some places neons virtually drop dead at nothing, guppies have the same issue.

Out of fish that just need heaps of special care, maybe discus? I've never kept them but they need their environment just so-so.

I don't think they are particularly susceptible to diseases (apart from HITH) but they are really hard to find tankmates for, and their water chemistry has to be spot on.

They are stunning fish but if I ever wanted a disc-shaped fish of that size I'd get a severum... similar but hardier. :D

Plenty of fish have bad captivity records. Paraya for instance, many tiny fish (eg danionella translucida), and some common rubbish fish like guppies, neons, etc.

Rubbish fish haha watch out feeshy when you go to your LFS the guppies may of gotten word and attack you with gravel knifes (sorry my silly imagination)

Glass catfish can be hard to care for. They need good water conditions otherwise they are extremely succeptible to bacterial infections.

I suppose I'm lucky, almost all of the fish I buy have been healthy and relatively easy to care for. Although, believe it or not, I have never been successfull in raising Guppys from any LFS I go to. The young I have reared to adulthood seemed healthy, but more often than not Guppys brought disease into the community, so they had to go.

So far my most difficult fish have been the angels, by far. They're so badly inbred they get stress related disease at the drop of a hat. I've been lucky that we're over it now and have been or some time, but I would never recommend them as "beginner" fish.

I would agree with angels, the y need a mature tank as so weak.
Chocolate gourami gets another yes on Weakness.

for me, cardinal tetras have been the weakest and most sensitive i've ever owned. cardinals always die on me either days or a few weeks after i get them. neons are in 2nd place, but they are always a little bit stronger in my experience.

Chocolate gouramis and rummy nosed tetras. They are very, very picky with water conditions.
