what is my fish called

ive been given a fish from a friend but dont no what it is called. its about 6 to 7 inch long light brown in colour, its some kind of loach cos it always sucking stuff sticking to the glass and so on and its got a long nose

Sounds like one of the Farrowella species, not a loach but a catfish closely related to plecs.

Me too, especially as their common name is 'twig' catfish.

Anyway to get a picture of it?

6" light brown sticking to the glass and with a long nose, (all things are relative!), could just as easily be a CAE!
