I was just looking over this forum and didnt realise that there are different types of Siamese fighters.

Now that I do, I am intrigued to find out what I have?!?

He's one of the most common, a veil tail. They all have the same attitude and needs, but some just have different tails. Veil tails (VT's) are the most common you can find and many are treated with very poor care in LFS', they keep them in cups and things that they can't even turn around in. Yours looks quite healthy though!
What size tank do you have for him can I ask? Also what/if any tank mates does he have?

40" (L) x 16" (W) x 20" (H) 53 US Gallons

I have 4 Mollies, 6 Zebra Danio's and 6 Black Phantom Tetra's, 5 Kuhli Loaches, 2 Golden loaches, 2 x Corys (Melina and Julii) and a Albino Plec.

I also have 4 Angel's, 2 Ram Cichlid's and 2 Rainbow Cichlid's, but in another tank (same size).

How do you tell the sexes?

I kmow what you mean about the LFS, he had 12 or so in cups!!! I didnt like that and want to buy the lot!!! (obviously didnt)

hi, yours is a male. if you look at the FAQ bits at the top of this betta page there is lots of info I was trying to tell my hubby where they came from and why they dont like living together and I got right out of my depth...so i need to go away and do my homework!
