What is it???

I was just siphoning out some of the water out of my betta fry tank when i looked into the basin and i saw about 5 skinny red worms!!! they are about 1 cm long! what could they be? are they harmful to my betta fry? There could be more???

No, they could't be! I never feed bloodworms!

You don't have to have fed your betta them for them to get into your tank, they are a larvae of a fly, here's a link with pics;

Do they look anything like these guys? They look much more lighter red in water.

They are far, far more skinny! they are so skinny you can hardly see them! Can i feed them to my fish!

Its posible they are just young bloodworms, they do get fatter and longer with age...
I'm not sure though without pics, i suppose there's no harm in showing one to your betta and seeing if he takes a bite, no?
