WHAT IS IT?

The last couple of times before I vaccuumed the gravel in my aquarium, I noticed some stuff that was white, and looked kind of cottony on the bottom, either floating, or embedded in between the gravel.

Could this be uneaten food, and/or fish waste?

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Uneaten food will get fuzzy from fungus. This is bad and you want to remove it.

I've also heard certain bacteria blooms can be white and stringy?
