hey i went to petco and they have had this little what they have marked ass a texas cichlid and it price is going down and its not gitting bigger and its like 2 inches and i was wondering if he would go into my 20 gal commuinty tank i uner stand about the bigger tank if need be and i have it but could he go in there for now

I take it that when you say community tank that means you have fish already in there? If so, no. He'll most likely kill any community fish the first day or two. 2" fish can kill. I had a 2" flowerhorn kill a 3" mananguense the 3rd day I had him, came home to just the head. This was in a 75 gal tank with just them two.

If no other fish are in there, then yea, you could probably keep him in there for about a month or so. But I would wait until you already had at least a 55 or 75 gal to move him into. Texas cichlids are a dime a dozen in most places so no rush.

no in a community as said alreally to be blunt.

in the tank on his own he won't be able to stay there long before needing alot bigger tank they can grow up to 10inches.

so just think about adding a killer fish into your community if you like the fish you have already :p

:good:
