What Is Growing Fast In My Fish Tank?

This started happening when I brought home an Algae Eater. It looked at first that this kinda stuff was coming right out of his gills, and the next day he was dead. But for a few weeks now, I've been seeing this stuff in my tank, sometimes there will be a huge clump of it (the size of a golf ball) in as little as a day. What is it and how can I get rid of it?

TBH it looks like old food that has been sitting around in the tank. Do you feed pellets? Because that looks like old rotting pellets.
To get rid of whatever it is, use a gravel vac to suck it up and dont over feed the tank.
