What is fish poo??

Does anybody know what fish poo is?? Is it mostly just vegetable waste passed through the fish? The reason i ask this is because somebody told me that it is mostly proteins. I told her that i used ammonia to cycle my tank, but she told me to use a can of clams or mussles since they are protein, like fish poo . I find this really hard to believe, so can anybody help me out?

edit:: oops, ok i think i confused some people. my tank is already cycled. i was more concerned about the fish poo/protein/clams.

I've heard of some people on here adding a pinch of flake food to the water to get the cycle going Probably a better idea than dumping a can of shellfish into your water

I added "Cycle" and a pinch of food and my tank is now just begining to show Nitrates after only 15 days.

I would go get some "Cycle"

i've actually already cycled my tank and have fish in. i used liquid ammonia. cycle didn't really help at all (if it did, then i couldn't tell the difference). i was just wondering because it didnt really seem like a good idea
