What Is Causing All Of My Bubbles?

I have a 7 (US) gallon that is cycled and is producing a lot of bubbles. And no ... I don't have a betta.

Any Ideas?

are the bubbles on the top of the water or on the inside of the tank ?

Id say chemicals aswell. Cause when i use melafix it tends to do that abit in no non-water moving parts of the tank.

hmmm mabye gases escaping from inbetween the gravel? other than that it may be the filter your using, I know my whisper power filter tends to create bubbles at the top...


Say, I noticed you have Bamboo, I just got a piece today and I'm curious to know if it's fine to keep fully under water?

- petrified wood
- mopani wood
- java fern
- 6 ghost shrimp

No chemicals have been added other than water conditioner (Seachem Prime).

I'm using an AquaClear 20 power filter and have never experienced this before when used previously.

Good eye noticing the bamboo, although it's not the real stuff. It's artificial.


The tank is cycled (using media from another filter) and has been running for over a month. My hands have been clean when in the tank.

I have no clue whats causing this!

mad you may say but when you use the dechlorinater if you add water at a fast rate it looks like washing up liquid.

Is there fast water running out of your filter maybe try at another angle?

Yeah its a chemical substrate. I use to have this problem. I was using something that has a substrate in it it its look like soap.

mabye some of the soap looking stuff was actually soap, and now you have soap bubbles?? My suggestion... take a bath
