what is a T5 tube?

Personally I can't see really what difference a few 8ths of an inch can make.

The T5 tubes offer almost double the light output of a normal T8 tube as well as taking up less space so more tubes can be added. They only really come of any use to those with high light requiring plants or deep planted tanks, or of course marine tanks with corals and light requiring inverts.
