That you spawn? I remember when I tried to spawn... never again will I feed a small fish a large pea. But how many do you get? surely all 500 eggs won't hatch... I wouldn't have the heart to cull them. Even though I don't intend on spawning anytime soon. :p

You dont usually get so many eggs, its just possible. Lots will die or be eaten, some will have problems and 'need' culling.

Heh... wow... makes me want to go into breeding again, but I won't, nup.

I darent breed, I used to be over run with guppies and worry about every single one of them :hyper: I was given a zebra finch about 8 years ago male someone had found in the garden, I got it a friend. In a small cage they ended up raising 6 babies, still got 3 of them now! :good:

I wouldn't want to breed my cockatiel. One screaming, attention craved, stubborn, persistant and refusing-to-eat-pellet bird is enough.

Breeding bettas just seems like it would be so exciting.
Trying to get certain color types, or tail types.. and then raising the fry and waiting to see their color....
I'll probably never attempt it though as spiff as it all sounds.
Just don't have the room, knowledge or equipment :)

But see Liz, you have to think of it from the right perspective! My husband doesn't know (poor thing) that my bettas making little bettas will only let me have MORE BETTAS! He knows I have been wanting them, and while I agreed to stop "buying" them, he has been encouraging the breeding thing ...I'm not sure it's registered to him that I am about to have a TON of bettas.

That's flippin' HILARIOUS! Maybe I should look into breeding! That way I'd just have to talk my husband into a little Girly betta!

:fish:
