What Happens When A Fat Cat Is Home Alone And His Dinner Is Late

Surely the solution to this is not jars or tubs, but a closed cabinet door?

James.
I even put a child lock on the cabinet which held the food... :p unfortunately my cat was such an addict that he climbed behind the fishtank and in the back of the cupboard to get to the plastic tubs...  (the Juwel Rio stands are open at the back for pipe work/wires etc). And of course once he'd done it once it didn't matter what I put in his way, he knew he could get in the back of the cupboard so he'd get through it no matter what

The jars were the only way to stop him - it was either that or put a back on the cupboard which I wasn't in the position to do at the time. Plus with it being glass rather than plastic the smell doesn't seep out so he's not even tempted. However, if I get a sample pack or anything I have to find a jar for it straight away otherwise it's gone faster than I can blink

I've just read this tread and it's made me laugh. I accidently spilled a little flake food on the carpet this evening and thought I'd leave it til the morning and get it with the vacuum. Then my dog came wandering in, had a sniff and started licking the carpet, inbetween me telling her not to eat fish food! She then looked at me and did this freaky thing with her tongue that was very silence of the lambs and wandered out of the room again!

Glad to hear it's not just me with a mad dog that eats fish food

And what of us poor people who only have metal stands, eh?!

;)

Jars it is for you then!

I don't really not what cats are capable of, didn't expect them to be able to access cabinets!

My cats are some determined little turds! They will open the kitchen and bathroom cabinets as well when they get bored! I have to keep all my fish food in a drawer. I found (other than jars) that is the only way to stop them!
