what happened

one of my guppies was pregnant. she had the spot and a bit of a belly. when i got home last night she was laid on the bottom of the tank. she had none of her colour in her and was breathing really fast. her belly had shrunk as well.
then she started darted up and down one side of the tank and gasping for breath.
this morning she has got her colour back and seems to be swimming alright.
she still has a small gravid spot but her belly has gone back to normal.
i have looked around the tank to see if i have any fry but cant see any. they would probably have been eaten by the other fish anyway


anyone got any idea's what might have happened?

sounds like she was vwry stressed out giving birth... she may have been chased around all day trying to give birth in peace...

at least she's ok now... sometimes they just give up and die after a stressfull birth.

do you have a lot of plants for her to hide in when she needs to?

yeah its quite a well planted tank.
