Hey, I was wondering if anyone could please identify this frog. They are at my LPS and this is a white one, there were many brown ones aswell and they were around 2cm. The man said that they are called 'brown aquatic frogs' but as far as I know, thats not a type of frog (?) I was wondering how big they would grow,

Any info would be great! :)

African clawed frogs.

These grow quite large and will eat small fish, sometimes even larger fish. There is a profile on them I believe down in the inverts section of the forum :good:

They are too big then, hmm. Thanks anyways! :)

You can get small african DWARF frogs that will stay small, around the size of the one in the picture.

You need to be careful as some fish stores will mislabel the frogs and you dont want to end up with an african CLAWED frog because as mentioned they get large and you will suddenly notice fish missing!

The easiest way to tell is by looking at their feet, the DWARF frogs have webbing between their toes on both the front and rear feet whereas the CLAWED frogs only have webbing on the rear feet and the front feet are individual claws.

I have a dwarf frog in my tank and need to get some more really, they are great and each one has their own personalities. Mine comes to the front of the tank to see me when I go close and some people have reported that they can be heard 'singing' when happy
