What fish?

Hi.........well.........as tank number 4 is cycling, thoughts turn to its potential inhabitants.

The tank is a 24 (across) x 21 (high) x 12 (back to front).

(26 US gallons)/

Substrate is sand. (Silver playsand, cleaned).

Eheim filter.


I want this tank to be a bit different to the community tanks that we have.

I already have a Featherfin Syno to go in there.......and really want something else.

.......can you recommend me fish that will be suitable?

I was kind of thinking along the lines of Convicts perhaps..........

.......or Kribs......

.....or Jewel Cichlids.....

.....or even a shoal of barbs of some sort?

I originally thought of Silver Dollars, but understand that it is recommended for them to be in a group of 5.........and this tank just isn't that big.......

Your thoughts please?

forktailed blue eye rainbows(Pseudomugil furcatus)

......those forktails really do look pretty......

......however....I was hoping for a smaller number of larger fish.....

......I am concerned that anything too small will become a meal for my Syno......

....I caught him this evening chasing our 1.5 inch mollies around.....and jumping out at the Serpea's ............


......maybe I should feed him more............he must be bored with wafers.....and the weekly live food offering.....

.........that could be my problem..........
